AUSTRALIAN VISAS FAQ
Is Australian immigration easy?
Immigrating to Australia has become very complex, so it cannot be described as easy. However, our company specializes in making the process as straightforward as possible for you.
How much does Australian immigration cost?
The cost of immigrating to Australia depends on several factors, including the visa subclass and additional expenses such as official translation and certification of documents, as well as our company’s fees.
How long does the Australian immigration process take?
The timeline varies depending on the visa subclass. Each visa type has its own processing times.
How long does the assessment of Australian visas usually take?
The evaluation time varies by visa type. Visas that grant fewer rights, such as the eVisitor visa, are typically processed quickly, often within 24 hours. Visas with more requirements and benefits, such as work or immigration visas, can take 6-12 months. It’s important to note that the Australian government can change processing times without prior notice, and there is no upper limit for visa evaluation times.
If I am granted an Australian immigration visa, who is allowed to accompany me?
Generally, spouses and children are included in the visa, but siblings and parents are not.
Does Australian immigration have an age limit?
This depends on the visa type. For permanent residency, the upper age limit is 45 years, though there are exceptions. However, there is no age restriction for partner visas and temporary visas.
How long does it take to become an Australian citizen?
To be eligible for Australian citizenship, you must have lived in Australia for at least 4 years, with at least 1 year as a permanent resident.
How does the Australian Department of Home Affairs decide who is allowed to immigrate?
There are several evaluation types but most Hungarian immigrants enter Australia on a professional basis, either independently through a points-based system or via employer or state sponsorship.
How is the points system structured?
Points are awarded based on factors such as age, education, relevant professional experience, and English language skills. Additional points may be given for state sponsorship, previous work or study in Australia, and other criteria.
Are English language skills necessary for Australian immigration?
Yes, you must demonstrate your English proficiency through a valid language exam accepted by the Australian Department of Home Affairs.
The most widely accepted exam is the IELTS, but the Department also accepts the following types: OET, TOEFL iBT, Pearson (PTE Academic), and Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE).
What is the minimum level of English skills I need?
This depends on the visa subclass. Generally, a score of 6.0 in each band of the IELTS General Module is required for a skilled permanent visa. However, an IELTS score of 5.0 may be sufficient for an employer-sponsored visa.
