Can I contact you even if I am not a Hungarian citizen?

Yes, you can, considering your country is eligible for the chosen visa type.

Is a medical examination required before submitting a visa application?

No, it is not required before applying for a visa, but can be requested by the immigration office depending on the visa type and individual travel history and circumstances.

Who can conduct the medical examination if needed for the visa application?

Since 2015, the Australian immigration authorities do not require mandatory medical examinations anymore for Hungarian citizens who are applying for a visitor, student or Work and Holiday visas unless requested, but for employer sponsored and other immigration visas it is mandatory. Medical examination can only be conducted by doctors designated by the Australian government.

Is it necessary to obtain health insurance if travelling to Australia on a tourist or Work and Holiday visa?

Health insurance is not mandatory for most visa types, but it is strongly recommended to have coverage while traveling to Australia.

Is it possible to switch to another visa type if I am already in Australia as a tourist, or if I am on a Work and Holiday visa?

Yes, it is possible, but each case is different. For personalized advice, please contact us! 

Do I need to purchase the plane tickets before submitting my visa application?

We do not recommend purchasing a plane ticket before securing your visa. It is better to arrange your travel plans once you have a confirmed visa approval.

 

EVISITOR VISA FAQ:

Is there an age limit for the Australian eVisitor visa?

There is no age limit for applying for the electronic Australian tourist visa.

What do I need for the Australian eVisitor visa?

You can find the basic requirements on our website under the Australian eVisitor Visa section. However, please be aware that in some cases, the case officer may request additional documents beyond the basic requirements.

How many people can be included on an Australian eVisitor visa?

No one can be included on the electronic Australian tourist visa. Each individual must submit a separate visa application.

How long is the Australian eVisitor visa valid for? 

The visa is valid for 12 months. It allows for multiple entries, but you can only stay in Australia for a maximum of consecutive 3 months each time.

Can I work in Australia on an eVisitor visa?

No, the eVisitor visa does not permit employment.

How long does it generally take to process the Australian eVisitor visa?

According to the Australian Department of Immigration, 90% of eVisitor visa applications are processed within 48 hours, although processing times can vary.

 

TOURIST VISA FAQ:

What is the difference between the Australian Tourist Visa and the Australian eVisitor Visa?

There are multiple differences. You can read about the Australian Tourist Visa here, and the Australian eVisitor Visa here.

What do I need for the Australian Tourist Visa?

You can find the basic requirements on our website under the Australian Tourist Visa section. However, in many cases, the visa officer may request additional documents beyond the basic requirements.

How many Hungarian citizens can apply for the Australian Tourist Visa each year?

Currently, there is no limit on the number of Hungarian citizens who can apply for the Australian Tourist Visa.

Is there an age limit for applying for the Australian Tourist Visa?

No, there is no age limit.

For how many months can I apply for the Australian Tourist Visa?

You can apply for either 3, 6, or 12 months.

Can the Australian Tourist Visa be extended?

Yes, it can be extended.

Can a family member be included on an Australian Tourist Visa?

No, family members cannot be included on an Australian Tourist Visa. Each traveller must submit a separate visa application.

Is a medical examination required when applying for the Australian Tourist Visa?

In most cases, a medical examination is only required if the applicant has a serious illness or is undergoing ongoing medical treatment; or if in the past 5 years the applicant has lived in a country for at least 3 months where the medical exam is mandatory. If the applicant is 75 years or older, a medical examination is always mandatory.

Do I need to provide proof of financial means to the Australian Department of Immigration when applying for the Australian Tourist Visa?

Yes, proof of sufficient financial means is always required for this visa. This is most easily demonstrated through a personal bank account. The amount can be in any currency, and the Australian government will convert it to Australian dollars at the current exchange rate during the visa assessment. If you do not have sufficient savings, your sponsor or inviter can provide proof of financial support on your behalf.

How long does it generally take to process the Australian Tourist Visa?

According to the Australian Department of Immigration, 90% of Tourist Visa applications are processed within 2 to 27 days. Based on our experience, processing typically does not exceed this timeframe.

Can I study in Australia with a Tourist Visa?

Yes, you can study for up to 3 months.

Can I work in Australia with a Tourist Visa?

No, the Tourist Visa does not permit employment in Australia.

 

WORK AND HOLIDAY VISA FAQ:

Is there an age limit for the Australian Work and Holiday visa?

To apply for the Australian Work and Holiday visa, you must be between 18 and 31 years of age.

How long can I stay in Australia with a Work and Holiday visa?

After your visa is approved, you have one year to enter Australia, and you can stay in the country for a maximum of 12 months starting from the date of entry.

How many Hungarian citizens are eligible for the Australian Work and Holiday visa each year?

According to current regulations, 500 Hungarian citizens can apply for this visa each year.

Can I bring a family member with me on the Australian Work and Holiday visa?

No, family members cannot be included with this visa. Each individual must apply separately.

What is the typical processing time for the Australian Work and Holiday visa?

According to the latest data from the Australian Department of Immigration, the processing time is less than 21 days for 75% of cases, but for the remaining 25%, it may take even a couple months. Based on our experience, decisions typically take 1-2 months, but this can vary.

Do I need to provide proof of financial means to the Australian government when applying for the Work and Holiday visa?

Yes, you need to demonstrate adequate financial means. The current requirement is 5,000 AUD in savings, plus the cost of your travels, totalling at approximately 7,000 AUD. Proof of financial means can be provided with a personal bank account. The amount can be in any currency; the Australian government will convert it to Australian dollars at the current exchange rate during the visa assessment.

How many times can I apply for the Australian Work and Holiday visa?

Under current regulations, Hungarian citizens can apply for this visa once but there is an option to extend it two more times under certain conditions. Please refer to the Work and Holiday visa page on our website for more information.

Is English language proficiency required for the Australian Work and Holiday visa?

Yes, you must provide evidence of English language proficiency, which must be submitted with your application. The Australian Department of Immigration accepts certain internationally recognized language tests, including:

    • IELTS (4.5)
    • OET
    • TOEFL iBT
    • PTE Academic,
    • CAE.

The certificate must not be more than one year old at the time of application.

Can I study in Australia with a Work and Holiday visa?

Yes, you can study for up to 4 months with this visa.

Can I visit my home country or travel to other countries while on a Work and Holiday visa in Australia?

You can travel in and out of Australia as many times as you like during the visa’s validity period, provided you comply with all visa conditions.

If my Australian Work and Holiday visa expires and I want to switch to an Australian student visa or another type of visa, can I do this from within Australia?

Yes, if you have complied with all conditions of your previous visa, you can apply for another visa from within Australia. Feel free to contact our Australian office for assistance.

Which Australian city is best suited for Work and Holiday holders?

We have been living in Sydney for years, so we might be a bit biased. Other cities also offer numerous opportunities for Work and Holiday visa holders, but in case you might need some initial help and some connections, we recommend Sydney, where we can assist you personally.

How can I find and book accommodation most easily?

What are my chances of finding a job in Australia with a Work and Holiday visa?
