The Tourist Visa is perfect for those planning to spend their holidays in Australia or visit friends and family. While it does not give you a work permit under any circumstances, you are allowed to study for up to three months without having to apply for a Student Visa.

Unlike the Australian eVisitor visa, this type of tourist visa offers the flexibility to stay in Australia for longer periods as well. You can apply for a visa for a duration of 3, 6, or even 12 months.

Requirements:

• You must possess a valid passport from an eligible country.
• Applicants must demonstrate sufficient financial means, which can be proven through documents such as bank statements or employer income certifications.
• If requested, you must provide proof of ongoing employment or sufficient financial means to cover your trip and incentive to return home.
• Valid health or travel insurance is not legally required, but may still be requested by the Australian government. It is recommended to obtain a policy to avoid having to cover all medical expenses yourself if necessary.
• You may need to submit a statement of intent for your travels, as well as an invitation letter.
• You must meet Australian medical and character requirements.
• You must pay the visa fee to submit your application.
• This type of tourist visa can be applied for both within and outside of Australia; however, the fee differs depending on the location.

• 195 AUD/applicant (outside Australia)
• 490 AUD/applicant (in Australia)

• Standard fee: 130 AUD
• Fee for applicants with previously refused visas: 170 AUD
