Weather and Geography

Hobart’s weather is Oceania that is not too hot in summer; winter is relatively mild and rainy. The average summer temperature is 17 degrees, in the winter it is about 2 degrees. The sky is often clouded over Hobart but big storms generally bypass the island. Hobart is situated on the foot of Mount Wellington right on the coast. The Derwent River is at the northern edge. Maybe the beaches in Hobart are not so famous like Gold Coast and the Bondi Beach, but they still preserve their untouched charm.

Sports

Tasmanians take their sports very seriously, which are centred in Hobart. The most popular local sport is cricket. The two most important teams are the Tasmanian Tigers and the Hobart Hurricanes. The Australian rugby has great popularity also; however, its real speciality is that the lead-up to the Australian Open - the Moorilla International - is held at Hobart International Tennis Centre.

Culture and recreation

It focuses on the city's culinary delights. Allegedly, they prepare the most varied fish dishes in Australia. The characteristic of the Tasmanian cuisine comes from the number of international cuisine with a mixture of special flavours.
